Born in Jesi on February 14, 1974, she is the most medal-winning female athlete in the history of Italian sport. Fencer, under the Fiamme Oro Sports Group, she has won nine Olympic medals, six of which are gold, one silver and two bronze. Her palmares boasts twenty-five medals at the World Championships, including sixteen world titles, five silver and four bronze medals, while thirteen gold medals have been won at the European Championships. She has won the Specialty World Cup 11 times. She was the blue flag bearer at the London 2012 Olympic Games. She is the mother of Pietro, born in 2005, and of Andrea, born in 2013. She was the testimonial of various associations involved in social and research and was President of the social promotion association “Laboratorio 0246”. From 2013 to 2018 she was Deputy in the ranks of Civic Choice for Italy, of which she was National Vice President. As a parliamentarian she was a member of the Culture, Science and Education Commission and presented 19 bills as first signatory, 68 bills as co-signer, 14 motions, 115 questions, 128 amendments as first signatory, 136 amendments as co-signatory. In large part, her parliamentary activity has been centered on sport, women’s rights, physical education, health, nutrition.
