About The Speaker
Robert is a multilingual communications and marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience in multiple areas of sports: sports marketing agencies, federations, football clubs and decision-making bodies. As Director Communications and Marketing of the European Club Association, based in Nyon, Switzerland, the ECA is the only independent body directly representing football clubs at the European level. From 2015 to 2019 he was Chief Communications Officer of FC Internazionale Milano, where he led the digital content strategy by creating the Inter Media House and oversaw sports and corporate communications activities. From 2017 to 2018, he was also interim Chief Marketing Officer. Previously, in addition to consulting for international sports federations, Robert was head of communications for European soccer governing body UEFA from 2001 to 2012. He began his career at the sports sponsorship agency Jardine PR in London, UK, covering motorsport events including Formula One, MotoGP and WSBK. A graduate of the University of Nottingham, he holds an Executive Master of Science in Communication Management from the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, and a certificate in Advanced Strategic Management from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles, USA.
