Roberto Mancini, former Italian footballer, coach and technical commissioner of the Italian national team champion of Europe 2020, was born in Jesi on November 27, 1964. A precocious talent, at just 6 years old, he shows an individual technique superior to his peers.

Considered one of the best attacking midfielders in the history of Italian football, at the age of seventeen he made his Serie A debut with Bologna. In the first season in Serie A he collects thirty appearances and nine goals. At the end of the season, the striker is bought by Sampdoria. With the Dorians’ shirt he spends 15 seasons collecting almost 500 appearances and scoring 132 goals. After fifteen years of success with Sampdoria, in 1997 Mancini moved to Lazio and will be the architect of the 2000 championship. He ended his career as a footballer at Leicester in 2001.
