SFS EXTRATIME returns: the innovation tour heads to Turin, Rome, and Caserta on the road to SFS 25
SFS EXTRATIME, the Startup Competition of SFS 25, is back in collaboration with Almaviva, with a new Innovation Tour across three Italian cities – Turin, Rome, and Caserta – to discover the most groundbreaking projects capable of revolutionizing the future of the Football Industry and the wider sports business.
The Innovation Tour offers a unique opportunity for startups, students, innovators, and young entrepreneurs to explore the world of SFS EXTRATIME and learn how to submit their ideas.

At each stop, participants will learn how to present their projects, connect with industry professionals, and gain insight into the leading startup competition in the Football Industry.
What is SFS EXTRATIME 2025:
SFS EXTRATIME 2025 is the official startup competition of the SFS, organized in collaboration with Almaviva, a leading Italian group in Information & Communication Technology. Its goal: to reward the most innovative solutions dedicated to the world of football and sports, capable of creating tangible and sustainable impact.
The competition is open to Italian and international startups and SMEs with projects focused on five key areas, with a particular emphasis on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) applications:
– Technology and Performance – Innovations to enhance athletic performance and data analysis in sports.
– Fan Engagement and New Experiences – Digital tools to connect with fans before, during, and after sporting events.
– Business Models and Sustainability – Solutions for a more economically, environmentally, and socially sustainable football industry.
– Media, Content, and Entertainment – Projects redefining how sport is told, distributed, and experienced.
– Ticketing and New Access Solutions – AI, blockchain, and customer experience-driven innovations for smart and secure ticketing.
The six finalist teams, selected by an expert jury, will advance to the Demo Day, scheduled for November 18, 2025, at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, during the eighth edition of the SFS.
The winning startup will receive a €5,000 cash prize and will be officially awarded during the SFS Awards, in front of leading figures from the football and innovation industries.
“With SFS EXTRATIME we want to give space and visibility to the ideas of young innovators,” says Gianfilippo Valentini, Founder of the SFS. “Our goal is to build a bridge between the talent of startups and the needs of the football and sports business world, offering not only a financial prize but, above all, the opportunity to connect with clubs, institutions, and companies at both national and international levels.”
