SFS23: INCLUSIVITY AS A VALUE

We firmly believe that football and – more generally – sport should be accessible to all, without discrimination of any kind. The Social Football Summit and adidas have based the partnership on the pillars of the SFS Manifesto as a guide.

From the stage of the sixth Social Football Summit in Rome, we promoted the social inclusion of players of all genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations and physical abilities. Through the narration of best practices, future perspectives up to branding activities, to support sustainability and inclusivity projects worldwide. The central theme of the panel was ‘football communities by adidas‘, attended by the Senior Brand Director of adidas Italia Irene Larcher and the representatives of the adidas Football Collectives: Miracoli FC (Natalia Pane), Balon Mundial (Elena Bonato) and Lady Soccer (Noemi Riccobene). Three different projects, in as many cities – Rome, Turin, Milan – but united by the idea that football can be a means of inclusion and a spur for change.

During the panel, the activities designed to enhance sport as a tool for social inclusion and education in fair play, respect for rules and conflict resolution were described.

At the Social Football Summit we work to eliminate discriminatory attitudes and prejudice in football and promote awareness programmes to educate players, coaches and fans on issues of inclusiveness and mutual respect.
