LND and SFS: discussion on the topic of sports and human rights with regional representatives of LND’s CSR Area

A time for discussion to take stock of a season marked by social and inclusion projects that the Amateur League’s CSR Area has promoted in synergy with its regional CSR contacts. On Monday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 8, at the“Carlo Tavecchio Room” at the LND headquarters in Rome, a meeting is scheduled to network through a shared daily commitment to sport and its function as a tool for guaranteeing human rights.
It will also be an opportunity to share new projects and illustrate the birth of other social paths that will affect the entire Italian territory where the Amateur League is present.
The proceedings will be opened by Giancarlo Abete, President of the National Amateur League, and will continue with more speeches by personalities related to the world of sports, social and inclusion.
A second round of discussion will be held later at CNEL with a panel discussion entitled“Human Rights Development through Sports,” moderated by Luca De Simoni. Massimiliano Monanni, CNEL Secretary General, will open the proceedings, followed by speeches by Hon. Matteo Orfini and Mattia Peradotto, UNAR Coordinator.
“In LND we strongly believe that sport is a tool for higher goals that go beyond the playing field,” says Luca De Simoni, coordinator of the Social Responsibility Area of the National Amateur League. the Free Nantes, Saint’ Ambroues and OroNero are examples in this. Indeed, by welcoming migrant kids and making them feel like family through soccer, sports clubs fulfill what should be one of the first goals of our sports movement“.
The first day’s discussion is scheduled to include a talk by Professor Marianna Pavan of Manchester Metropolitan University, who will present her research on sports for development and discuss how soccer can contribute to social inclusion.
