Life lesson with Giorgio Chiellini
When you are not fully aware of the direction to take, it can be useful to be guided by the words of Juventus’ new Director of Football Strategy, Giorgio Chiellini, who spoke during the sixth panel of the day at the Football Stage during an interview conducted by Giulia Mizzoni.
Choosing goals: this is the first step. Without a specific goal, it is difficult to know how and where to move. They are needed to turn on the light, such as creating an organizational chart, completing matters concerning the sporting director and a potential renewal. Once the foundation is set, you can think about moving forward; without it, you get lost.
The feeling of being lost is what distinguishes the younger generations: not knowing what to be in a world that offers endless possibilities. This flood of information inevitably ends up overwhelming us, but nothing is lost when you have someone with you who (to borrow the words of his former teammate) has eaten his fill of pasta and dispenses advice such as: “Est modus in rebus,” there is a measure in things. This should fill us, in some way, with awareness; help us channel the river and remind us (first the players and then the Bianconeri fans) of our Juventus spirit.
Once you find a balance, you think about what you want to become: you start to develop certain skills, starting with those innate within us, such as curiosity in this case. It is that engine that drives you to go beyond the surface, that patina that makes the whole world so polarized and that, instead, should be explored more and more, as has happened in football with the introduction of studies on data, sleep, and nutrition: everything at 360 degrees.
Sometimes in life it is difficult to go against the position of a colleague, especially if they are your superior or their name is Giorgio Chiellini. But he himself wants to be criticized, in the right way and with respect, because he is aware that it is constructive comments that push us towards improvement. And this is what should push us to spend time with people who are different from us: people with other interests and experiences, who generate evolution.
The focus, however, that guided the discussion was dialogue. It is difficult to achieve these things in life without relating to others, listening to them, and advising them. It all starts with words, and today, through the story of his new position, I was left with many positive feelings.
