We are pleased to announce the participation of Elena Palazzo, Lazio Region’s Councillor for Tourism, Environment, Sports, Energy Transition, and Sustainability, at the seventh edition of the SFS.
The event, scheduled for November 19 and 20 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, has become a cornerstone of the football industry, attracting both institutional and non-institutional stakeholders of national and international prominence.
In particular, sports tourism plays a crucial role within the SFS manifesto-guide (available here).
Palazzo, already Councillor for Environment, Sports, Energy Transition, and Sustainability, was assigned the Tourism portfolio by the regional President Francesco Rocca in March of this year. Her mission is to promote the region’s “hidden gems,” such as historical villages and natural areas, both in Italy and abroad.
“Lazio is a region with immense potential. We will work alongside municipalities, large and small, to develop a tourism strategy that highlights the entire territory” the Councillor declared on the day the delegation decree was signed. In this context, the SFS will serve as a valuable opportunity to showcase the work carried out in recent months and to enhance Lazio’s institutional image among the many international stakeholders involved.
During the event, at the Lazio Region’s exhibition space on the first floor of the Exhibitor area, a panel titled “Sports and Lazio Region: Towards a New Regulation. Future Synergies” will be held. The discussion, moderated by journalist Marco Lollobrigida and featuring the presence of President Rocca and the President of Sport e Salute Marco Mezzaroma, will focus on the new regional sports law.
The regulation, just days away from being approved by the Regional Council, aims to redefine the role of sports as a tool for social inclusion and economic development, in synergy with local sports organizations. After two decades without an updated regulatory framework, the Lazio Region is preparing to take a decisive step forward to support and innovate the sports sector, promoting policies that serve citizens, associations, and industry operators.
The event will provide an opportunity for interested parties to explore prospects for growth and collaboration between institutions and the sports industry, outlining guidelines for the future of the sector in Lazio.
In conclusion, we reiterate how honored we are to welcome a distinguished guest like Councillor Palazzo and extend our thanks to the Lazio Region for agreeing to be one of our institutional partners. We are confident that this panel will add significant value to this edition.”
